Job Description:
Purpose:The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at
Santa Clara University invites applications for three tenure-track
Assistant Professor positions starting in the 2024-2025 academic
year. To complement expertise of current faculty, address areas of
strong interest to students, and enhance collaboration
opportunities with local industries, the department is particularly
interested in candidates with specializations in Software
Engineering, Programming languages/Compilers, Computer
Architecture, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision,
Computer Security and Privacy, and Responsible AI. However, strong
candidates will be seriously considered regardless of area of
specialization.Santa Clara University () is a comprehensive Jesuit,

World Report. The School of Engineering is committed to improving
the human condition through engineering education, practice, and
scholarship.SCU maintains small class sizes and promotes close
faculty/student interaction. The Department () offers B.S., M.S.
and Ph.D. degrees, with 30 full-time faculty, and a strong pool of
approximately 20 part-time adjunct faculty who instruct about 500
undergraduate majors, and about 400 part-time and full-time
graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) majors. The School of Engineering
maintains strong ties to local industry.SCU and the computer

for teaching lower and upper division undergraduate and graduate

related to those courses, and for engaging students from diverse
backgrounds in learning.Salary:$113,443-125,976 based on
experience, education, and expertise.Basic
Qualifications:Applicants must hold a doctorate (PhD or ABD, all
but dissertation, required by appointment start date) in computer
science, computer engineering, informatics, or in a closely related
field; have demonstrated a strong potential for high-quality
research in computing; and have a strong commitment and ability to
teach at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels.Responsibilities:Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
in areas of specialization, and fulfilling all responsibilities
related to those courses. The standard academic year course load
for tenured and tenure-track positions is seven quarter-level
course equivalents. Limited course buyout may be approved using
external grant funds.Developing a research program that leads to
high-quality publications, competitive for funding by external
sources, and engages students as participants in that
research.Appropriate service to the department, school, university,
