• Performing design of tunnels, earth retention systems, rock and soil slopes and deep foundations.
• Designing rock and soil tunnel initial support using numerical and empirical methods.
• Preparing drawings and developing engineering reports.
• Developing and implementing geotechnical subsurface exploration plans.
• Preparing geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretive reports, geotechnical baseline reports, and geotechnical design reports.
• Participating in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and schedule performance.
• Interpreting geology, geotechnical and hydrologic conditions and understanding their impact on design and construction.
• Assisting in preparation of proposals.Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 11 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with emphasis on underground structures.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain one within a year.
  • Proven record of the use and supervision of PLAXIS software in projects.
  • Prior experience with PLAXIS 2D and 3D and ITASCA software (FLAC 2D and UDEC) is highly preferred but not required.
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in rock and soil logging, rock tunnel mapping, and subsurface investigations is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in supervising junior staff.Compensation Range: $122,808.00 - $163,744.00STV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
