Vice President of Federal Government Affairs, the Director, Federal
Government Affairs will play an integral role in developing and
implementing coordinated advocacy strategies, initiatives and
engagements with federal policymakers around issues that impact the
biopharmaceutical industry. Based in Washington, D.C., the Director
of Federal Government Affairs will be a member of the Government
Affairs (GA) team and will work closely with State Government
Affairs, U.S. Policy and Therapeutic Area leads (i.e., Virology,
Oncology).This role will involve advocating for and advancing
policies relating to drug reimbursements, coverage and related
issues impacting Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, to
ensure patient access to Gilead therapies. Additional areas of
focus may include drug development, approvals, and public health
programs. This role will also be responsible for maintaining
relationships with and regularly engaging the Congressional
Committees and Members engaged on these issues.The Director of
Federal Government Affairs will also work to educate Democratic
members and staff about the challenges facing patients with
HIV/AIDS and oncology, as well as advance federal health policies
that improve the treatment of these diseases. The position will
play an integral role in helping Gilead build relationships with
