Seeking a mid-level C++ Embedded Engineer for a permanent job in Herndon, VA.
 
Job Description:
This is an entry to mid-level software engineer position, developing embedded software for our hub linecard product using C/C++ on a Linux platform. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work for a rapidly growing company in the technology hub of Northern Virginia, and to gain experience in full life cycle software development, learn embedded system development skills, and to advance your career with the company's growth. The ideal candidate must have a BS degree in CS or EE, plus a couple of years of experience. MS degree preferred.
 
Required Experience:
• 3+ years of related software development experience
• hands-on C/C++ development experience, STL
• OO knowledge and programming experience in C++
• hands-on software development experience on Linux/Unix
• TCP/IP programming experience
• flexibility and ability to learn and use new technologies
• ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently and get things done
 
Extremely beneficial:
• experience in writing Unix shell or Python scripts
• cross-platform Linux/Unix programming experience
• Knowledge of Linux kernel and drivers
 
Beneficial:
• experience with GDB
• experience with Git
• network programming
 
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar is required
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred
