Position Summary



The PLOD (Professional Leadership and Organizational Development) Program Coordinator provides essential support to the PLOD Manager in the planning, development, and promotion of leadership and professional development training programs within Montgomery County Government (MCG). This dynamic role combines administrative expertise with training coordination to ensure successful implementation of professional learning initiatives across the organization.



Primary Responsibilities



Curriculum Development and Instructional Support

Assist in designing and updating training programs aligned with leadership and professional development goals
Research effective instructional methods, adult learning principles, and industry best practices
Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging training materials suited for different learning styles
Adapt content for various formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid learning environments



Training and Special Event Coordination

Support the scheduling, planning, and execution of training programs, workshops, and conferences
Coordinate logistical needs, including venue arrangements, participant registration, and material preparation
Monitor special training sessions to ensure smooth operations and help address any challenges



Presentation and Facilitation

Assist in delivering training content when needed, ensuring clear and engaging instruction
Support trainers in developing effective presentations and supporting materials
Incorporate interactive learning strategies using platforms such as Mentimeter to improve engagement and retention
Adjust instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and accessibility needs



Marketing and Outreach

Assist in promoting training programs through internal communications and marketing efforts
Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team to develop promotional content (flyers, newsletters, digital materials)
Help develop and maintain an annual training calendar
Provide stakeholders with updated program information

Administrative and Organizational Support

Maintain accurate records of training attendance, evaluations, and program performance for special training events
Prepare reports summarizing training effectiveness and areas for improvement
Ensure compliance with MCG policies and procedures related to training initiatives



Qualifications



Required Skills and Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
2+ years of administrative or program coordination experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team



Preferred Qualifications

Experience in training coordination, adult education, or professional development
Knowledge of instructional design principles and learning management systems
Familiarity with government operations or public sector training initiatives
Experience with virtual meeting and training platforms



Working Conditions

Primarily office-based with potential for hybrid work arrangements
May require occasional evening or weekend availability for special training events
Some local travel may be required to support training at various MCG facilities
